My midterm project for my Digital Painting class last semester. Although digital, very much not a painting (I think my teacher forgot about teaching us the painting part!). It proved to be a good exercise in photo editing/manipulation!
This started out as a very old, autographed and basically destroyed picture of Marilyn Monroe. I spent quite a bit of time touching up tears and water/light damage, editing out the autograph, evening the tone/correcting the lighting in the image, and converting it into a clean grayscale. The final image you see through the letters of her name-- I was going for a typography-pointalism-effect. Photoshop CS. |
